Contemporary quilted artwork by Ruth de Vos.
110cm high by 116cm wide
Salvaged wool fabric, hand-dyed cotton fabric, cotton batting.
Hand-dyed, machine-pieced, hand- and machine-quilted.
"A gentle breeze rustles through the leaves as the whisper little stories to one another."
This quilt was made for – and accepted into – Expressions 2008, the Wool Quilt Prize held at the National Wool Museum. It was quilt a different experience to work with wool fabric (only the stems are cotton) but one which I found myself thoroughly enjoying, to my surprise
This artworks has a sleeve stitched onto the back for hanging purposes, and can be hung using a gallery-style hanging system, or with two screws in the wall. More info including pictures here: http://ruthdevos.com/blog/how-to-hang-an-art-quilt/
